Review the command center

This guide shows how to review Centriu's command center in a structured way, ensuring that dashboards stay aligned with actual operations, support decision-making and do not become a “chart museum”.

Why review the command center regularly?

Over time:

  • Operations change (new products, channels, regions).
  • Goals change.
  • What was once essential turns into visual noise.

Without review:

  • Dashboards show numbers that no one uses.
  • Critical indicators stay hidden.
  • The risk of decisions based on outdated data increases.

Rule of thumb

If leadership can't make 3 clear decisions by looking at the dashboard, it needs to be reviewed.

Quick dashboard health checklist

Use these points as an initial triage:

  • ?
Is the dashboard used in weekly meetings?
  • ?
Do the metrics still align with current goals?
  • ?
Are there charts that no one can explain?
  • ?
Are there duplicate numbers across different dashboards?
  • ?
Do default filters and date ranges make sense?
  • ?
    Is the load time acceptable?

If you answered “no” to more than 2 items, carry out a deeper review.

Step by step to review the command center

1. Go back to the business objective

Before touching any charts:

  • List the 3–5 main goals of the company/unit (MRR, churn, NPS, backlog, etc.).
  • Ask: “If I were in an airplane cockpit, which instruments would I really need to track these goals?”
  • Create a list of the “essential” metrics.

2. Group the metrics into logical blocks

Organize the command center into at least 3 blocks:

Revenue & Growth
  • MRR/ARR, monthly revenue.
  • New customers vs. churn.
  • Expansion, upgrades and downgrades.
Operations & Volume
  • Volume of tickets, requests, orders.
  • Open queues and cycle time.
  • Capacity vs. demand.
Customer Experience (CX)
  • NPS, CSAT, CES.
  • SLA, average response time.
  • First-contact resolution rate.

Each block should quickly answer: “Are we getting better or worse?”

3. Eliminate noise and redundancies

For each current chart, answer:

  • Which decision does it help to make?
  • Who uses this chart and how often?
  • Does this information already appear somewhere else?

Recommended actions:

  • Archive charts not used in the last 60 days.
  • Consolidate duplicate versions of the same metric.
  • Reduce the number of filters when they create confusion.

4. Validate data quality

Check:

  • Data refresh frequency.
  • Whether there are no gaps (days without data or strange spikes).
  • Whether the default filters are correct (last 7/30 days, active customers only, etc.).

Tip: pick a day and compare Centriu's numbers with the source system (CRM, help desk, ERP).

5. Validate with leadership

Hold a quick meeting (30–40 min):

  • Present the new version of the command center.
  • Ask each leader to answer:
    • “Can you see what matters for your area in 5 minutes?”
    • “Is there any number you still look up somewhere else?”
  • Adjust the dashboard based on the feedback.

Recommended review routine

  • Weekly: use the dashboard for reading + decisions (without changing the layout).
  • Monthly: review for 15–30 min to add/remove metrics according to the goals.
  • Quarterly: structural review of the blocks (Revenue, Operations, CX) and narratives.
